Maryland Wear and Carry Permit
This is a 16 hour course offered over two days. Carrying concealed is a major responsibility and can be a liability. It’s important to have a firm understanding of “deadly force justification,” weapons retention, defensive tactics, basic ballistics, threat evaluation, conceal vs. cover, and weapons manipulation.
- As of July 5, 2022 Maryland has eliminated the requirement of “Good and Substantial Reason” to obtain the MD Wear and Carry Permit. Any upstanding citizen can obtain a permit for the simple purpose of self-defense.
- Applicants are still required to submit documentation of the required training and a LiveScan fingerprint receipt.
- Fingerprinting is offered onsite.
- Various holster techniques will be taught.
- All Maryland requirements to obtain a Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) and Maryland Wear and Carry Permit for will be met.
